Above is a short video showing one of our boiler installations in Clapham SW4. In the video, a Worcester Bosch 24sfs boiler was removed and replaced with a Worcester Bosch 25si instead (which is the next model up from the 24i Junior). The Worcester Bosch 25si boiler has a superior hot water flow rate to the Worcester Bosch 24sfs (around a litre per minute faster). It also has a temperature control for the hot water (which you don’t get with the Junior).

As with all combination boilers this is a pressurised system with a pressure gage on the front.

There is also an internal filling link inside, (for information on how to fill this see our “How to top up your Boiler” video). For this particular boiler installation in Clapham, we fitted a DT20RF which is a wireless stat with a programmer on the boiler. With this you have the option of separate settings for the heating and hot water.

There are three settings per day and separate settings for the weekend (the same with the hot water) There is also a “holiday function” that you can use if you’re going away for holidays which is great.

As with all of our installations, the system has been drained and flushed.

We have a mains flush on the system that clears all the water and all the sludge out and then we treat the system with inhibitor which is a chemical agent, that stops further sludge from building up and protects the boiler.

New Efficient Boilers

Greenstar condensing boilers are much more energy efficient than the old style boilers and the average government statistics say that they’re about £230 a year cheaper on Gas Consumption!

Finally, on this boiler installation, we fitted a wireless stat in the hallway and ran the condense pipe back into the waste system internally (sometimes we run it externally, but we lag it for frost protection).
Most of our boiler installations are started early and completed within a day.

I contacted Steve on Wednesday evening, he was at my door next morning at 8.45 and did a great job repairing a leaking boiler and necessary repairs to cure the constant drop in pressure and need to fill the system regularly. He also performed the annual service. He even came back on Saturday morning to check it was all ok as there was still a very slight drip from the air pressure vent. The boiler is now purring sweetly. Steve is very a knowledgeable and accredited professional. I have no hesitation recommending Steve and he is reasonably priced compared to others I have used in the past who have not done such a good job.
