In this Video, Steve (one of our Gas Safe plumbers in London) has just completed a full system conversion, carried out in a big house in London. On this particular heating system conversion, our Gas Safe plumber has converted a conventional heating system over to a combi condensing heating system. In order to convert the heating system, a big old Potterton 1016 boiler was removed, along with an old cylinder in the airing cupboard. We also took out all associated pipework. This was then replaced with a brand new Worcester Bosch 42CDI Combi Condensing Boiler, which was fitted in a slightly higher position than the old boiler. All of the old pipework was converted over to the new system and linked through. The system was also drained and flushed.

Magnaclean Installation in London

As this system was converted from an open vented to a sealed system, a Magnaclean filter was also fitted close to the boiler, on the return. The Magnaclean stops any swarft and debris from getting into the boiler and damaging the heating exchanger (it is recommended that a Magnaclean is serviced annually). Inhibitor was also added to the system, which was flushed through with mains water, to get rid of any sludge and protect the new boiler.

Efficient Heating System = Substantial Savings on Heating Bills

As this heating conversion was installed in a four bedroom house, having a new Worcester Bosch 42CDI Combi condensing boiler instead of the old system will mean that the customer will make huge savings on gas bills. The typical saving for this customer will be around£300 per year!

Heating Controls

As an optional extra, we will fit either the DT20RF or the DT10RF digi stat. For this particular heating conversion, the Gas Safe Plumber in London has fitted a DT10RF. With the DT10RF, you can set your heating times and temperature remotely, this was the best option for this particular customer, as the boiler was fitted in their garage. Pipework

All of the pipework on this installation was fully lagged an a condense pipe was also run back into the waste system.

We left the customer with a toasty warm house ready for the winter and plenty of hot water.

Steve at Aquaheat did an excellent job repairing my 6 year old Worcester Bosch boiler which had been ‘written off’ by Putney Plumbers a few days previously. He spent an hour or so repairing and then servicing the boiler and charged a very reasonable £192 compared with the £3000 option recommended by Putney Plumbers.
